Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 5KM township road each in Mokwa, Edati and Lavun Local Government Areas of the State with reaffirmation of his commitment to grassroot transformation.
The event which took place separately in Mokwa, Enagi and Kutigi afforded the farmer Governor opportunity to access the work done by each of the contractors.
At Mokwa, Farmer Governor Umaru Bago explained that the project was in fulfillment of part of his campaign promises to better the lives of the citizenry.
Farmer Governor Bago who used the forum to caution those engaging in tree felling to desist from it, disclosed that the flag-off of the 20 million Dollars tree planting project would be done in Mokwa to address deforestation and that assessment is being carried out for lasting solutions to environmental hazard.
He also advised residents of the area on the use of life jackets before boarding boats, pointing out that there would be repercussions for those who go against the law.
On the issue of electricity challenges faced by the residents, the farmer Governor constituted a steering Committee, headed by the Member, Mokwa State Constituency while the Council Chairman will serve as the Secretary with the mandate of resolving the challenges in three weeks time.
The Commissioner for Industries, Trade and Investment, Aminu Suleiman Takuma who described the road projects embarked upon by the Bago-led administration as phenomenal said the farmer Governor has written his name in the history books.
At Edati, Farmer Governor Umaru Bago charged contractors handling the road project to abide by the contract specifications and ensure that they do not compromise standards.
While assuring the people that his administration will spread it developmental initiatives to other sectors, the farmer Governor called on them to be patient and show more understanding.
Chairman Edati Local Government Council Sunday Yisa described farmer Governor Umaru Bago’s efforts as unprecedented and assured him of the support of the people of Edati.
Similarly, the farmer Governor, while in Kutigi, reiterated commitment to providing social amenities and ensure food security to the people.
Chairman, Lavun Local Government Area Council, Isah Mohammed noted that the community has not benefited from any road construction for the past four decades hence the decision of the farmer Governor to extend the infrastructural development to the people is highly commendable and promise to complement his efforts.
The contractors in charge of the projects in their separate remarks expressed their commitment to delivering quality jobs.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago also inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Secretariat of Lavun Local Government where he commended the Council Chairman for his remarkable strides.
