FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING THE NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES IN ACHIEVING THEIR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has restated that his administration will continue to collaborate with the Federal Government to support the Nigerian Army in particular and the Armed Forces at large in whatever way possible.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago stated this during the inauguration of the new Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Headquarters complex, reunion and pulling out parade of retired Army Generals in Bauchi.

The farmer Governor who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Gen. Muhammad Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) appreciated the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja for his untiring efforts of providing purposeful leadership to the Nigerian Army.

He also commended him for naming the new Nigeria Army Armoured Corps Complex after Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida whom he described as a well – respected elder statesman who has contributed immensely to Nation-building, especially in the areas of Human Capital Development and Infrastructure.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago further extolled the virtues of Gen. Babangida as an outstanding Armoured Officer whose role in the development of Armour and, by extension Nigeria Army cannot be quantified.

He also commended all other retired Army officers who made sacrifices and laid a strong foundation for a better nation, pointing out that the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Headquarters complex, symbolises their great and uncommon service to the Country.

The farmer Governor said the event was a platform for the serving officers to reunite with their veterans in pulling out the retiring Officers, reminding them of the bond that binds them.

He said the journey of the retiring officers has been marked by exemplary service, leadership, and sacrifice which will continue to serve as inspiration to the serving and future generations.
