Niger State Fadama lll Additional Financing (AF),

Project Communication Officer, Alhaji Baba Shaba Bida, (Magatakardan Kutigi), has been commended for effective performance.


This commendation came from the National Communication Officer of the project, Alh. Bashir Dayyabu at a review meeting of Fadama lll AF on communication strategy in Minna.


Alh. Bashir pointed out that communication is very important, very effective and very costly, and implored all the communication officers that came from the 36 States including Federal Capital, Abuja to emulate Niger State Fadama lll AF project CO in terms of communication strategy.


He expressed satisfaction over the facilities put in place at the community Radio Awareness Initiative, kutigi, and advised them to take the project as their own not to allow the money spent to be wasted, particularly on the maintenance and security. He also urged them to be up and doing in order to find means of generating revenue and to focus on Agricultural programmes because that is what the station was made for as well as health programmes.


In his welcome address, The State Project Coordinator, Engr. Usman Aliyu Kutigi, said that the review meeting is apt, as it would assist greatly to see to the success of the implementation of Fadama III additional financing nationwide. Part of his success story, according to him, was the use of electronic as well as the print media to reach out to the grassroots farmers; including drama presentation, film shows and public announcements.


Engr. Kutigi further stated that a total of 1,025 farmers were trained on business plan development, while about 2,500 farmers received capacity building training on Agric business management, group dynamics, contract negotiation and book keeping for farmers by 12 consultants across the state.


In his remark, the chief host, Fadama Communication Officer, Alh. Baba Shaba expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for making their dream a reality.


Alh. Shaba sincerely thanked World Bank Team Leader, Dr. Adetunji Oredipe, National Fadama Coordinator, and National Fadama Communication Officer, for the important role they played towards the actualization of the Kutigi Community Radio.


He also appreciated the efforts of the State Project Coordinator, Engr. Aliyu Usman Kutigi (Sarkin Noman Fadama Nupe), Late Ezo nuwan Kutigi, Alh. Hussaini and the entire Kutigi community including staff of the Niger State Fadama Coordinating Office, as well as the National Fadama, FG and the World Bank in general for their support and cooperation.
