This follows the total rehabilitation and upgrading of the water works, Alh. Idris, who was fielding questions from journalists at his temporary office (Chanchaga Water Works), stated that cost of tools, appliances including logistics and staff incentives has been forwarded to the governor for approval to enable the staff achieve the desired goal in carrying out their legitimate assignments to provide potable drinking water, identify leakages, burst pipes and other challenges, with a view to reducing the hardship encountered by staff especially when called upon to rectify repairs at night.
“You can’t engage a staff to work in the night or call his attention to a burst pipe without having an official vehicle stand-by to convey such workers to and from their respective destinations,” he lamented.
It could be recalled that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, in his administration’s zeal and determination to finding lasting solution to the perennial water scarcity in Minna metropolis, paid an unscheduled visit to the Chanchaga Water Works.
