The Niger State Ministry of Information and Orientation wishes to inform the general public that the Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of uniforms and 8kg hand luggage to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The exercise was officially flagged off on Monday, 27th April 2026, at the Board’s headquarters in Minna, marking a significant step toward the successful airlift of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, stated that the initiative is part of deliberate efforts to ensure early preparation, effective coordination, and improved welfare for all pilgrims. He explained that the uniforms will aid easy identification and coordination, while the standardised hand luggage is designed to ensure compliance with international travel regulations.

The Ministry further notes that this effort reflects the commitment of the Niger State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, to enhance the overall Hajj experience for pilgrims from the state.

Intending pilgrims are hereby advised to remain law-abiding and strictly adhere to all guidelines provided by the Board. Female pilgrims are particularly urged to ensure that their clothing conforms to Islamic standards of decency as outlined by the authorities.

The government reassures all stakeholders of its readiness to ensure a seamless, safe, and spiritually rewarding Hajj exercise for all registered pilgrims.
