Our Mandate
Formulate and Implement Education Policies
Develop and implement policies and programmes that promote the quality, equity, and accessibility of basic and secondary education in Niger State.
Oversee and Regulate the School System
Regulate the general administration of the basic and secondary school system in alignment with UBE, EFA, and Sustainable Development Goals.
Provide Adequate Infrastructure and Personnel
Ensure that basic and secondary schools have access to adequate infrastructure, facilities, equipment, materials, and qualified personnel.
Promote ICT in Education
Actively promote the development and utilization of Information and Communication Technology in basic and secondary education.
Support Capacity Building and Professional Development
Support the capacity building and professional development of teachers, school managers, education officers, and other stakeholders.
Foster Innovation, Research, and Curriculum Development
Encourage innovation, research, and curriculum development to meet the changing needs and aspirations of learners and society.
Collaborate with Relevant Stakeholders
Collaborate with other ministries, regulatory agencies, tertiary institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and research institutes.
