The Niger State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (MW&I) oversees the policies, plans, and projects of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago in the area of public works and infrastructure, subsuming the functions of the erstwhile Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development.

Development and Maintenance of Physical Infrastructure
Develop and sustain physical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, buildings, water supply, electricity, drainage, and sewage, ensuring safety, durability, and functionality.
Regulation and Monitoring
Regulate and oversee works and infrastructure sector activities within Niger State, ensuring adherence to laws, standards, and regulations.
Investment Attraction and Facilitation
Attract and streamline local and foreign investment in the works and infrastructure sector by offering incentives, facilitation services, and security.
Socio-Economic Contribution Enhancement
Enhance the works and infrastructure sector’s role in the socio-economic advancement of Niger State through employment generation and improved competitiveness.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Alignment
Collaborate with federal, state, and local authorities, the private sector, civil society, and development partners to foster synergy in implementation of infrastructure policies.
Public Awareness and Responsible Usage
Promote public awareness, education, and participation in works and infrastructure matters to encourage responsible and sustainable infrastructure resource use.
