GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO PERFORMS GROUNDBREAKING FOR THE REMODELLING OF THE SSG COMPLEX
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has performed the groundbreaking for the remodelling of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Complex in Minna.
The Governor explained that the project is part of his administration’s efforts to provide a conducive working environment for civil servants in the state and give the state a facelift.
Governor Umaru Bago noted that the old structure used as the SSG’s office had been in existence before the creation of the state, hence the need to remodel it.
“This has been here since 1973. Niger State Government met it when it was created and it has been where SSG had been operating since 1976 in the spirit of New Niger, we need to change the phase of the state and this is one of our giant strides to give civil servants a conducive atmosphere to work in so that there will be productivity”, he said.
He said the contractor would be paid upfront, and however cautioned him that there is no room for variation.
The Governor further disclosed that the State Government’s plan to construct 1,000 Low-Cost, Medium, and High-earn housing estates between 2024 and 2025 to benefit Nigerlites adding that it will also build a new secretariat complex that will accommodate over 5000 offices.
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman who expressed delight over the initiative, acknowledged that the project will no doubt create a good working environment and increase staff productivity.
The contractor in charge of the project, Rabiu Yaro explained that the project would be done in clusters and that the first cluster would house SSG’s office at the cost of N533 Million.
He assured that the project will be of standard quality and will be completed in six months.
