FARMER MOHAMMED UMARU BAGO LEADS NIGER STATE TEAM ON A STUDY VISIT OF SOME SUGAR FACTORIES AND RICE MILLS IN BRAZIL

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago led a State Government team on a visit to some sugar Companies in Brazil with a view to studying sugarcane production techniques to achieve success in State State Sugar production project.

The Farmer Governor was accompanied on the study visit by members of Uttham Sucrotech International Company, a Sugar Producing Company that recently signed an agreement with Niger State Government on sugar production.

Farmer Umaru Bago and his team visited four sugar factories and rice mills situated in different parts of Brazil specifically to carry out on-the-spot assessments of the companies.

Niger State Government had in September this year, sealed an agreement with three companies, Uttham Sucrotech International, Rite Foods Ltd, and Legacy Sugar Company Ltd for the cultivation and production of sugar which is to see to the establishment of six sugar mills across the State.

Under the agreement, Uttham Sucrotech will support the project with 110,000 out-growers and diversify production to include by-products such as refined ethanol, power generation, and cattle feed.
