ACTING GOVERNOR OF NIGER STATE, COMRADE YAKUBU GARBA VISITS THE PEOPLE OF ANGUWAN MAI-GERO COMMUNITY OVER BANDITS ATTACK ***SAYS GOVERNMENT IS MAKING EVERY EFFORT TO ADDRESS INSECURITY

Acting Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba has paid a condolence visit to the people of Anguwan Mai-Gero community recently attacked by bandits, leading to the death of many.

Comrade Garba who had an interaction with the community members and also assessed the situation, sympathised with them over the incident.

Speaking to journalists after the interactive session and on the spot assessment, the Acting Governor said the Security Agent will carry out a thorough investigation on the attack and relate the outcome to the government.

He observed that insecurity is affecting the outcome of the Agricultural revolution of the present administration in the State as farmers are being chased out of their communities by bandits.

The Acting Governor, however, assured that government is doing everything humanly possibly to change the narrative and tame the tide of insecurity in the State.

He used the opportunity to debunk the speculations on Social Media that the victims were going for mining, explaining that the victims were in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp and decided to go to Anguwan Mai-Gero for farming purposes.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Shawulu Danmamman, assured that an investigation to understand the cause, identify the attackers and the victims would be opened.
