FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO CALLS FOR ADVOCACY BY STAKEHOLDERS FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE STATE AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on critical organisations and individuals to support the Agricultural revolution of his administration in line with the food security policy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago made the call when he inaugurated the new executive council members of the Community Association For Grassroots Transformation CAGRAT in Minna.
He decried the rising cost of food items in the country, describing it as Man’s wickedness to Man by Man adding that those who are in the habit of hoarding and mopping up food are responsible for the increment.
The Farmer Governor however said, support from Organisations such as CAGRAT to the agricultural revolutionary plans of the State government will go along way in making the State an agricultural hub.
He said, Niger State needs to start producing emerging markets which will in the long run, enrich the farmers as well as guarantee food security.
The Farmer Governor described CAGRAT as a Grassroot initiative that can be used to overcome challenges and attain a more inclusive future.
He then affirmed his commitment to working together with the Grassroot organisation and call on the organization to organized a round table discussions with the State Government to discuss developmental issues as they affect the State including Baro Port and Bida Basin.
