Niger State Governor, Farmer Umaru Bago has said his administration remains committed to the growth and development of the education sector for the overall good of the State.
Farmer Umaru Bago stated this when he received the Management of Newgate University Minna led by its Pro-Chancellor, Hassan Nuhu, on a thank-you visit to Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago at the Government House Minna.
The Farmer Governor, who acknowledged that no meaningful society can exist without education, stressed that he remains desirous of promoting education at all levels
He recalled how he benefited from free education, and how Government Schools had hitherto produced the best students due to good foundation, reaffirming his dream to change the society through education.
The Farmer Governor, while advocating Partnership between the private and public institutions in developing education and curriculum for the State and Nigeria in general, reassured the Management of Newgate University of his administration’s continuous support.
Earlier, the Pro Chancellor, Newgate University Minna, Hassan Nuhu said their visit was to express their deepest appreciation to the Farmer Governor for his immense contributions to the University.
He disclosed that the University is set to have the accreditation of 10 new programmes.
The Pro-Chancellor further revealed that the University will commence five major post graduate programmes by next year, adding that the Board of Trustee (BoT) of the Institution has approved for the construction of a Post graduate Complex within the University to be named after the farmer Governor.
