FARMER UMARU BAGO CALLS FOR KNOWLEDGE EXPANSION BY ICT TRAINEES ***DONATES A FUND TO NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATION AND 30 OF ITS TRAINEES
Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on beneficiaries of ICT training to continue to expand their knowledge for their benefit in particular and that of the State in general.
The Farmer Governor made the call when the Founder of the Make Life Better Foundation led beneficiaries of his ICT training to a thank you visit at the Government House, Minna.
He acknowledged that ICT is taking centre stage in most activities across the globe, adding that it has greatly reduced physical contact with people.
The Farmer Governor noted that ICT is used even in Agriculture, to make its activities more effective and efficient as well as increase sales.
He maintained that the government cannot employ everybody hence the need for skills acquisition to make people self-reliant.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago assured that the state government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy will collaborate with the Make Life Better Foundation to train more youth in the State.
He then announced the donation of N5 million to the Foundation for the expansion of its training capacity to the people of the State and also gave 100 thousand naira each to the 30 beneficiaries of the ICT training.
Responding, the Founder Make Life Better Foundation, Ahmed Abubakar explained that the Foundation is a diverse one that unlocks the potential of individuals from different aspects of life ranging from ICT, Agriculture and Fashion among other areas of entrepreneurship.
He observed that the world is advancing technologically, hence the need to equip people, especially the youth.
The Founder said the Foundation has trained 30 youths so far in digital training and literacy in its first batch, adding that other batches will follow subsequently.
He said the Foundation intends to equip 500 to 1,000 youths before the end of the year.
While commenting on the tremendous support the Foundation is enjoying from the Bago-led administration, the Founder described the Farmer Governor as an icon of change in the society.
He said the Foundation is looking forward to collaborating with the State government and some Government institutions like SMEDAN, and Voice of Nigeria, among others to bring more development to the Society.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Journalists expressed delight with the opportunity to be trained and promised to improve on it for their benefit and humanity.
