Niger State Government has secured a $1m Scholarship partnership agreement with the University of Toronto, Canada for the training of 100 Students from Niger State pursuing Medical Degrees and Professional Courses at the University.
Farmer Governor Umaru Bago led a State Government delegation to the University where a $1m dollar scholarship bond was secured, with the University of Toronto creating a $2m Fund as matching grants.
The agreement is a milestone achievement especially as the Farmer Governor is prioritizing the health sector to address the need for effective healthcare service delivery across the State as the Medical Students that will be part of this Scholarship will eventually help out in this regard.
The University of Toronto is acknowledged to be among the 50 top ranked Universities in the world with over 680,000 alumni across 190 Countries as well as securing over 1,200 partnerships with Institutions across the globe .
The partnership with Niger State is no doubt an avenue for aspiring medical professionals from Niger State to acquire quality advanced medical knowledge for the overall good of the State and in line with the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Governor Umaru Bago.
