NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO PARTNER FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN WOOING INVESTORS TO THE STATE
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has sought collaboration with the Federal Government to woo more investors to the State, especially in Agriculture.
The Governor stated this after a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu at his office in Abuja.
Speaking to Newsmen after the meeting, Governor Umaru Bago explained that his visit was to tap knowledge from the Minister and acquire first-hand information about development partners which he said is at the disposal of the Ministry.
Governor Umaru Bago maintained that the State is determined to maximise its Agricultural potentialals, hence, the need to partner with the Federal Ministry of Budget and Planning in getting the right investment, particularly in Agriculture.
He said during the meeting, he introduced the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo to the Minister for effective collaboration.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu assured that the Ministry is willing to collaborate with Niger State as it is part of the Ministry’s mandate, which is to coordinate the development plans of the Federal government and that of the States.
He further stated that the collaboration would allow interaction with development partners and potential investors, explaining that it would enable the Ministry to market the sub-national as much as the federal government is marketed.
While commending the zeal of Governor Umaru Bago to transform Niger State, Sen. Bagudu promised to work with the State Ministry for Budget and Planning Commission, to fast-track the development of projects initiated by the Governor to reposition Niger State.
