This visit was in condolence over a helicopter crash in the Shiroro local government area of Niger State that resulted in the loss of Air Force personnel. Governor Bago appealed for an increased deployment of Air Force personnel and fighter jets in Niger State to enhance the fight against banditry and criminal activities, emphasizing that their presence would boost rapid response to security threats.
Commending the Nigerian Air Force for its role in combating terrorists and other criminal elements in the state, Governor Bago pledged the state’s support, including providing accommodations for personnel. In response, Air Marshal Bala Abubakar expressed gratitude for the visit and assured that the Air Force would remain resolute in its duties. He emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach to address security challenges, urging Nigerians to assist by sharing information.
