Formulating and Implementing Policies in the Legal System
Formulate and execute policies pertaining to the legal system and administration of justice, encompassing constitutional and legislative reforms, human rights protection, and enforcement of the rule of law.
Legal Advice and Representation
Provide legal advice and representation to the Niger State Government and its agencies involving the constitution, laws, treaties, or international agreements.
Drafting, Reviewing, and Vetting of Legal Instruments
Draft, review, and vet bills, regulations, contracts, and other legal instruments for the state government and its agencies, verifying their alignment with legal frameworks.
Prosecution and Defense
Prosecute and defend cases involving the Niger State Government and its agencies in various judicial and quasi-judicial bodies.
Legal Sector Administration and Supervision
Administer and supervise the legal system and personnel within Niger State, encompassing courts, the judiciary, the attorney general’s office, and the law reform commission.
Access to Justice and Legal Aid
Promote and facilitate access to justice, legal aid, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for all residents, particularly vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Upholding Rule of Law and Human Rights
Uphold and enforce the rule of law, human rights, and fundamental freedoms within Niger State, ensuring equal treatment before the law for all individuals.
