Our Mandate
Formulate Policies for Enhanced Power Generation
Devise and execute policies and strategies aimed at optimizing power generation, transmission, and distribution systems with emphasis on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and biomass.
Promote Renewable Energy Technologies
Promote the development and widespread adoption of renewable energy technologies to diversify the energy mix and mitigate the impact of climate change.
Facilitate Reliable Electricity Access
Ensure equitable access to electricity for all citizens, particularly rural and underserved areas, by promoting off-grid and mini-grid solutions.
Coordinate with Relevant Stakeholders
Engage in coordination and collaboration with other ministries, state and local governments, regulatory agencies, private sector entities, and development partners.
Support Capacity Building in Renewable Energy
Empower local entrepreneurs, investors, manufacturers, and service providers in the renewable energy sector by supporting capacity building and fostering innovation.
Monitor and Evaluate Renewable Energy Programs
Conduct comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of renewable energy policies and programs across various sectors and levels of governance.
