Niger State Government is supporting the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI) – Solution17 for Climate Action, which has launched Solution17 FoodAthon in partnership with LG Electronic Nigeria and with the support of Pan-Atlantic University.

This initiative doubles as countdown to the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) which is scheduled to hold in November 2023 at Expo City, Dubai.

On Friday, 23 June 2023, under the theme “Fostering Youth-Led Innovation to Drive AgriFood Systems Transformation and Climate Action,” the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria hosted the event that supports youth engagement, inclusive participation and innovation for agri-food systems towards the World Food Forum Flagship event holding on Rome, Italy on 16-20 October 2023.

His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago ably represented by Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the Secretary to the State Government, registered that Niger state is ready to partner with development partners and investors to boost agriculture development, youth engagement, innovation, and agroforestry towards the state’s green economy agenda, after which he announced that Niger State will be hosting a groundbreaking “National Green Summit” later this year.

The upcoming summit will be a pivotal platform for unveiling the Niger State Blueprint on Green Economy. This comprehensive roadmap will guide the efforts of the State Government in achieving a sustainable and prosperous Niger for all.
