MUSLIM PRAYERS HAVE BEEN HELD IN ALL HEADQUARTERS OF THE EIGHT EMIRATES OF NIGER STATE

Muslim prayers have been held in all headquarters of the eight Emirates of Niger State praying to God to intervene and bring an end to insecurity challenges facing some parts of the state and country.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Emir of Minna, Alh Umar Farouk Bahago and other top government functionaries were part of the Muslim faithful that converged at the Minna Central Mosque for the prayer session held on Saturday.

Governor Bello said that the call for the special prayer session was to seek for Allah’s guidance and protection against the activities of the bandits that were maiming and killing innocent people.

“Today we call for special prayers against these people to seek Allah’s guidance for protection from these people also with the hope that God will penetrate their hearts to stop their activities.

“They have been inhumane in their activities, they have killed innocent civilians, they have killed security men, they killed women and babies and virtually everything that moves around”.

He said that the prayer session was to touch their hearts to stop their nefarious activities as they soon see their end.

According to him, the government has put robust security measures to end bandits activities that have displaced about 10, 000 people.

He said that with the plan on ground it was better for bandits to repent because they will soon run out of time.

“I strongly feel it will soon be late for them as we are putting in place a robust action that will completely eradicate such activities”, he said.

The secretary of Imam’s Forum and Chief Imam Bosso Estate, Alh Umar Faruq said that the prayer session was to turn to God to see that the insecurity challenges comes to an end as no human has power over it.

He said that Niger State has been peaceful, therefore the prayer was to ensure that people continue to enjoy the peace.

Alh Faruq prayed to God to continue to protect the lives of the security operatives.

Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque who doubles as the Chairman of the Imam’s Forum, Mallam Ibrahim Isah Fari led the prayer session where the Holy Qur’an was recited and other prayers were offered.

Similarly, Christian special prayer held Sunday in Churches across the headquarters of the eight Emirates.
