Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has joined other eminent and well-meaning Nigerians to condemn the carnage in Plateau State.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor described the Christmas Eve attacks on communities in Plateau State as unwarranted and unacceptable.

He said it is unfortunate that while the people were preparing to celebrate in love, joy and happiness, those who have no value for life decided to turn people’s joy into sorrow.

While sympathizing with the people and government of Plateau State, especially the affected families, Farmer Governor Umaru Bago urged the Federal government to do all within its power to ensure that perpetrators are not only apprehended but prosecuted.

He prayed that God would grant quick recovery to those injured and bring back those displaced safely to their ancestral homes.

It was reported that gunmen attacked several communities in Plateau State on Christmas Eve, killing over 100 people, many others injured, with thousands displaced.
