The Niger State Government has concluded all arrangements with Greenville LNG Ltd to establish two CNG plants in Minna and Suleja as the state gears up to begin operation of the 200 CNG buses procured.
Barrister Maurice Bello Magaji, the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Lands & Survey, stated this when he received representatives from Greenville LNG Ltd, Nigeria’s leading producer of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
Barrister Magaji also led the team on a site visit for the development of a CNG depot in Minna and another in Suleja, both to be constructed simultaneously.
The land allocated for these depots spans 8.7 hectares. These depots will serve as a central CNG hub in North Central Nigeria, catering to the 200 CNG buses procured for state use and the wider public.
The bus services will operate as follows:
1. Free transportation for students at all levels, from primary to tertiary education.
2. Subsidized transportation for civil servants.
3. Of the procured buses, 100 will be dedicated to the Suleja/Abuja route, while the remainder will operate within the state and interstate.
