Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago Celebrates International Youth Day in Minna.
The event, organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), took place in Minna and was lauded by the Governor’s representative, Hon. Suleman Isah, Commissioner-designate. He praised the NYCN for their dedicated efforts and commended them on launching their new magazine and website.
The Governor urged NYCN’s leadership to invest the proceeds from the magazine launch in projects that would leave a lasting legacy once their tenure concludes. He also emphasized the administration’s dedication to engaging the youth by appointing young people to cabinet and key positions. However, he stressed that youths need to sharpen their skills and gain experience to be considered for these roles.
Aligning with the event theme, “Green Skills for Youths: Towards a sustainable world,” the Governor announced that the administration is championing a green revolution by establishing a ministry of power and renewable energy. Plans were also revealed for hosting the first National Green Summit in October and setting up a Ministry for Communication Technology and Digital Economy to create opportunities for the youth.
